Carnival in the Rhineland! But those,
who organize this scenario didn´t care. A fellow-Airwarrior Boni5
was here for a visit and the one
or other beer was drunk. Slightly <hehe> drunk i took of with the JG77
again.
Change of Target to London!
One of those frame that everyone
who participated will remember! Maybe the biggest furballs ever developed
during a scenario. Our objectives were to assemble a "Big Wing" and going
over to South-East-England for a fighter-sweep. A corridor should be opened
for our buffs with light fighter escorts. Target LONDON!
More than 150 Fighter-Aircraft
were spread around the area north of Lympne. The JG77 had their finest
hour and their biggest losses. A great frame!
Short
after we arrived at the english coast, 2 wings of Spitfires attacked the
JG77 and Me 110 that flew with us. The Spits first hesitated on attacking
us, awaiting the buffs that MUST be with us. But when they realized there
are only fighters and behind the fighter MORE fighters, they ran for their
lifes! A little too late for some Brits.
One
of those unlucky guys was DIVE. His squad dissolved right in front of us
and left only single Spits with lots of huns around them. The 110´s
did a great performance and are awesome opponents if combined with single-engine-fighters.
DIVE turned right in front of me and some 110´s near me. I achieved
some hits, but he dove away.
My view of this situation.Oh man, this pilot is really alone!
Again
<sigh> i couldnt get hits on these wildly maneuvering Spits.
Down below, this single Spit #A is DIVE, he died
later during the fights with the 2nd wave of german fighters.
This day was one of the succesful
days of the whole Scenario. I flew 3 sorties that day, without kills,
but some assists. The 1st flight
was focussed by the fights over south-east-england. I did my second flight
together with my brother KUER. He died in the Biggin Hill Ack, i smoked
a single Hurricane but had to break, when the Hurri tried to drag me into
the Ack. The 3rd sortie was together with <FD> and 2 other of JG77.
We did aerobatics above the London-Tower and went home without having seen
any british fighter.
Later we learned, that about 95%
of the british fighter forces has been wiped out! What a day!
Sorry, no pics of Frame6. Maybe i find a film on another Harddisk. As usual, again no kill, but one of the longest rides that can be made in a 109E3 <gg>. And i survived.
