Departure from Cherbourg. This days
target was Warwick in South-England. Warwick was hit the former frame and
should be closed now.
This day the Brits ordered heavy
fighter-forces to South-England. JG77 will be very busy.
Under
normal circumstances, this should be a sure kill. But heavy delays prevented
hitting the target. Scheibenkleister!
Ede,
Jumbo and KaK3 were successful. The debris of a Spit rains down.
On
my way home. After an chase of a Spit i turned south towards the channel.
Later i learned, this Spit was my former GL DIVE (<S>). My squaddy OMBRA
shot him down in a kind of "delay"-kill. WTG OMBRA.
I reached the british coast on my way home. JG77
was far away in front of me, i was low and low on fuel.
A single Spit came from the sea in app. 5k higher
than me. Oh man, a nice end on a nice trip to England. The first hits made
my gears stuck in the down position.
I
turned sharp and the Spit overshot me with far higher speed. Right this
time, another 109 arrived on its way home. BUNTR! He dove on the Spit and
dragged its pilots attention away from me.
Should i stay or should i go? Brain said GO,
heart said STAY. I turned towards them and got that near i could fire some
shots at the Spit. That was too much for the Spit. She dove for a saver
place and we left the Spit alone, i lived!
The
evasives didnt relly ease my fuel situation. Holes in the fuselage, Gear
stuck, low, slow
, 5% fuel left and 7 Sectors to safety and my
comrades. An excellent way to spoil my beloved 109!
2 sectors south of Tangmere the last molecules
of my 90 octane fuel went through the fuel injection pump.
The whole way home (i was sweating like a pig)
some of my comrades (especially my german pals <g>) made their bets,
if i could make it or not. I was not very amused <GG>.
Finally i ditched 2 sectors north of Cherbourg.
Warwick was destoyed by the KG30. The secondary
target Crawley was only hit light.
