When fun is the goal !

It began quite harmless...
By accident i found the new established AW2 on AOL Germany (yes, i was AOL-Customer) in April´98. The horror-download of the AW-Online-Version seemed to be worth it.
After being shot down several times the addiction began!
Not new to Flightsims (Battlehawks 1942, Battle of Britain on my Amiga, Baron ,the Sierra "Aces"-Series and SWOTL on PC), i began a quite expensive new Hobby (as long as you have to pay per hour!).
The first Squad i joined was the newly formed "Krauts" (why this name? i ask) which grew faster
than the AOL-Scout could handle (full after 3 weeks). We had some fun together but the performance of the game-server was beyond imagination (no more than 40 gamers in a arena).
After some quarrels with my squaddies i withdrew from the Krauts and assembled a squad with my brother KUER and a good friend OMBRA. The ALDI Interceptors!
In August the Situation at AOL got too worse and we all switched to a local Provider and to Gamestorm.
Wow! What a difference! The Arena full of like-minded morons <G>.
In September ´98 my friend for many years joined us: KOKET
The CPID´s are taken from the assortment of a supermarket-chain here in Germany.
All we do, we do with fun. We are no Point-Junkies and love the chat during flight.
In March ´99 i founded the FR-"Division", flying in BigPac and the new ETO.

I am very sorry to announce a tragic loss. Koket was shot down recently over enemy territory.
He was seldom seen in arena but he enlighted our hearts (and those of our opponents <g>) when he was present :-))

Another important thing happend in August! ALDI´s defected to C-Land!
Friends among the Az were few but real nice. Sorry, but we dont like to be shot down by 5 Bz while 7 Cz kill us on the fly-by :-))
We met several old friends (from Scenarios) in C-Land and dont regret having defected.

Leyte was the appetizer for us, thx to our GL and FL (Dive and Lugs), who were very patient with us dweebs <g>. But they didn´t warn us that scenarios addict that much :-)
